Tanya Van Dyk Edmonton, Alberta Obituary: In Loving Memory of Devlynn Cyr

Tanya Van Dyk, lovingly known to all as Devlynn Cyr, passed away peacefully at The Grey Nuns Hospital on January 28th, 2026, at the age of 41.

Devlynn was the kind of person who laughed loudly, sang beautifully, and cared wholeheartedly. She lived by a powerful motto: “You can do hard things.” This was not just a phrase, but the rhythm of her life. She continually encouraged those she loved to face their challenges, all while courageously navigating her own unimaginable journey.

Her voice, both literal and metaphorical, lifted all who heard her. Whether through song or steadfast support, she empowered others to find their own strength. She truly was one of a kind.

Devlynn was predeceased by her mother, Laurie Ward; her grandfathers, Lucas Van Dyk Sr. and John Pruissen; and her grandmothers, Sini Van Dyk and Pearl Pruissen. She is survived by her father, Lucas Van Dyk; her brother, Lucas (Kyle) Van Dyk; step-siblings Darryl and Roger; and a wide circle of friends who will carry her memory forward.

Above all, Devlynn loved deeply. Her greatest love was her partner, Tom, her constant companion, safe place, and anchor. Her legacy of resilience, joy, and profound love will never be forgotten.
